Waquoit Church Selected to Pilot Mass Bible Society Program
Massachusetts Bible Society (MBS) has selected the Waquoit Congregational Church to pilot is new educational series, “What Is the Bible?” The six-week course covers basic Bible literacy and is not biased toward any tradition. As a partner church, Waquoit Congregational will provide feedback to MBS on the course as well as consult on future projects.
“We are delighted to be selected for this pilot program,” said The Rev. Nell Fields, Waquoit’s minister. “The Massachusetts Bible Society is a well-respected organization committed to biblical literacy. To offer this course here in Falmouth is huge. Typically one would have to be near a seminary or university to have access to this type of material. We are looking forward to being part of this important project.”

This program is made possible by a generous gift from former trustee and longtime friend of the Massachusetts Bible Society, Dr. Charles Dickinson. The series is written by Executive Director and author Rev. Anne Robertson.
“We are excited to be working with Waquoit Congregational for our first pilot on the Cape.” Rev. Robertson said. “ ‘What Is the Bible?’ is being enthusiastically received across the Commonwealth and beyond, from the Roman Catholics to the Unitarians, and the Falmouth location gives us a good opportunity to bring different traditions together in a community setting.”
