The Gospel According to the Sound of Music Held at Waquoit Church
The Waquoit Congregational Church is teaming with Grace Memorial Chapel in Menahuant for a special worship service: The Gospel According to the Sound of Music. The service, slated for Sunday, July 28 at 10 am, will feature songs from the iconic musical paired with readings from scripture. Members of both congregations will participate in choir.
“There is a lot of spirituality in the Sound of Music, especially once you learn the background of the songs,” the Rev. Nell Fields, minister of the Waquoit church said. “This service will be fun and uplifting for everyone.”
In addition to the church choirs, Lizzie Raider of Waquoit will be a guest musician. Raider played Maria in the Sound of Music production at Cotuit Center for the Arts in 2022.
