Meaghan Farrell in Concert at Waquoit Congregational Church — Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7 pm

Waquoit Congregational Church announces a special evening with singer-songwriter Meaghan Farrell on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 7 pm in the historic 1848 sanctuary. The concert is free and open to all. Attendees are invited to bring donations of new hats and gloves to support unhoused neighbors as cooler weather approaches.

Raised by parents active in community theater, Meaghan Farrell transformed a personal journey through addiction, recovery, and mental health challenges into a powerful catalog of songs marked by candor and compassion. Farrell, a Harrisburg, PA native, was “born into music,” making her stage debut at age 10 and later studying drama at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. After years performing sketch comedy and overcoming addiction in her late twenties, Farrell began writing songs and quickly found her voice. She released her debut album Waitress, followed by the EPs Seeing Clearly Now and East Coast Girl.

Following a move to Nashville that brought renewed peace and creative focus, Farrell recorded her acclaimed second full-length Conversations with Myself with producers Dan and Nate Monea. She has since built a devoted live following, performing on The Rock Boat three years running and touring with artists including Red Wanting Blue, Will Hoge, and Leah Marlene.

Her most recent album, Motherland (August 2024), produced by the Monea brothers with a special guest production credit from Will Hoge, showcases Farrell’s hallmark honesty and wide-screen, symphonic folk-rock—“keeping it weird,” welcoming, and deeply human.

“Meaghan’s story and songs carry grit, hope, and hard-won joy,” said The Rev. Nell Fields, minister of the Waquoit Congregational Church. “We’re thrilled to open our doors for a free night of music and community—and to channel that spirit into caring for neighbors through donations of hats and gloves.”

The Waquoit Church is located at 15 Parsons Lane and Route 28 in E. Falmouth. The church is wheelchair accessible. For more information, contact the church office at 508-548-5269.
