Mini Concert With Glenway Fripp Friday, Dec. 13, 5 pm
For the past two years during the holiday season, the interior lights in the Waquoit Church have dazzled many people who’ve driven by the sanctuary during the evening hours. What’s even more spectacular are the lights inside.
This year, the church offers a special event on Friday, Dec. 13, at 5 pm, for the public to come in, enjoy the curated interior lights while listening to a tiny concert featuring jazz pianist Glenway Fripp and special musical guests.
The Christmas decorations in the interior of the church were designed by Derek Bowser, a landscape architect who is also from Waquoit.
“So many people have commented on the lights at night from the outside, but wait until you see inside,“ said the Rev. Nell Fields, minister of the Waquoit Church. “It’s a wow, wow, wow! Just the other day I was driving by the church, I saw there were two people who stopped and they were peering inside the church through the window. And so I thought we should open it to the public in the evening so they can experience the full wow.”
The mini concert is opened to everyone, regardless of faith tradition. The event starts at 5 pm, and will last no more than 20 minutes…enough time for people to enjoy the lights and music and the vibe.
